It maybe a center of commerce, but I find beauty in things natural and man-made, and this is no exception. Striking and unusual buildings, hosting a set of stores and sometimes a church, represent Half Moon bay town to the travelers on highway One.
It could have been just a characterless strip mall. But no, the original owner and architect, were clearly people that appreciated beauty. The spires of the buildings, the many dormer windows, the bright and proud colors, all create another iconic landmark of Half Moon Bay.
The little train caboose is the perfect cherry on the cake. This structure too makes me feel happy as I pass by it frequently.
